The Town of Gardiner has qualified for a no-match

$5,000 grant through NYSERDA’s Clean Energy

Communities program! 

The Town of Gardiner has qualified for a no-match $5,000 grant through NYSERDA’s Clean Energy Communities program. This “Action Grant” is the result of our efforts promoting the use of Electric Vehicles in the community and can be used for various projects that will reduce our community’s dependency on fossil fuels. 

There are other similar action grants that the Town hopes to earn by reporting the purchases of Electric Vehicles, installation of new heat pumps, heat pump or hybrid water heaters, and sign ups for community solar.

The following actions you can take will help us qualify for additional grant opportunities!

• Sign up for Community Solar

  • This program provides you with a guaranteed savings of 5 to 10% on your electric bill.

  • We need 10 sign-ups to qualify for a $5000 grant.

• Install a heat pump or heat pump/hybrid hot water heater 

  • This program provides both rebates and federal tax credits. 

  • We need 10 installations to qualify for a $10,000 grant.

• Purchase an Electric or Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle 

  • This program provides state and federal rebates depending upon your income level.

  • We need 15 more purchases to qualify for a $10,000 grant.
